It's been long time, so, can't recall, but certainly was better than that. If you see the video in the first PS it was done this way... The jumps is not because of the smoothness of the capture but because of the limited set of pictures to present I was working with (something related to that particular example).cell0907https://www.blogger.com/profile/06432011765268092498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5033209062055976547.post-56990027259767685032017-12-23T13:34:32.606-06:002017-12-23T13:34:32.606-06:00Hello. Any idea how to make it faster (more like a video)?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5033209062055976547.post-44957324242570886172016-12-04T13:28:19.137-06:002016-12-04T13:28:19.137-06:00this code is working but it showing camera surface...this code is working but it showing camera surface
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00591572289295697663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5033209062055976547.post-49729386173143514482016-01-15T11:48:34.008-06:002016-01-15T11:48:34.008-06:00it's doesn't work!!!!it's doesn't work!!!! N...Sorry but didn't have time to dig on this... Nevertheless, there is a method that works through OpenCV. Yeah, I know, that may sound like too much detour, but you can check an example I put here https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=5033209062055976547#allposts. Quick summary, basically, when you get a frame, opencv calls public Mat onCameraFrame(CvCameraViewFrame inputFrame) and what you return is displayed... (see point #2 in the link) Obviously, if OpenCV can do it, I guess that it can always be done (ie., not disable). But I don't know though, the inner workings. I think it works with a native routine, but didn't have the time to investigate yet...cell0907https://www.blogger.com/profile/06432011765268092498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5033209062055976547.post-33844851576598012392014-01-19T20:26:28.189-06:002014-01-19T20:26:28.189-06:00Well, if you take this code and put it in a backgr...Well, if you take this code and put it in a background service, then you can have it take a picture based on a certain event, or by using a timer/alarm. Consider the case of an alarm -- you would just turn the screen off yourself and have the alarm set to fire in 1 minute.

This used to work in the past, but now it doesn't. I take it that Google has disabled this capability. With this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6756768/turn-off-screen-on-android/6757206#6757206 or this method http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7198336/android-turn-screen-off?

By the way, does it work in normal app, like the code above?cell0907https://www.blogger.com/profile/06432011765268092498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5033209062055976547.post-87678770436240047652014-01-19T12:21:54.278-06:002014-01-19T12:21:54.278-06:00Thank you for the post. Have you tested it when running the picture taking from a background service?

My testing with Nexus devices and KitKat 4.4.2 (with a similar) approach show that the fake surface view doesn't work when launching from a service, that the screen flickers when trying to draw a transparent activity, and that the picture can't be taken when the screen is OFF.

Have you tried this?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
